Communicative skills

I studied in Academic Communication LSEC N101 by Gregory Vrhovnik. I have improved in this course by knowing how presentations are done such as; make sure to have a good eye contact during the presentation, power point should have key words in each slide to be clever and have practice to know what you want to talk about. Gave more time to practice your voice and try to explain more about the subject. These skills we will use in the future in our presentations to get higher mark and try to be more confident to do a presentation in a perfect way. The biggest challenge in formal communication was how to present in front of our class and talk to them for 4 – 7 minutes. The most frighten was when I talked in front the camera and was recorded.  In the future, I would have more practice and tried to talk to publishing people without a fear and be more confident because am more confident now I can discuss any idea about any subject. Those skills I can use in different aspects in my life such as work interview I will be more confident and I will be able to sell out my C.V. I would thank you MR. Gregory for teaching us.

Formal Presentation

Our presentation took place in 30 May in T005A the participants are Khalid Al-Mourzoqi, Mohammed Al-Rumaith and Hamdan Al-Braiki.
The presentation was on “Global Warming”, and it was about twenty minutes long. All of us had good eye contact during the presentation and my friend Fahed was absent because he was sick.  Hamdan was the second person to speak in the presentation he talked about the “Melting Ice”. I think Hamdan was a little nervous, because subject was difficult and he doesn’t know how to talk about it. He had done more practice that helped him during the presentation. It gave him more confidence. He presented on smart black board trying to explain more. However, he had excellent body movement and used his hands to make his points clear and he showed all information on power point. In general, he spoke more loudly which do his voice higher also he had learned difficult vocabulary words to use.
This presentation was better than before because we knew the strategy. Now we knew how to do an excellent presentation by more practice and eye contact.
The power point was very clever in general. There were only key words on all slides and the visuals were clear.
Overall, I thought the presentation was very good. It was clearer than before and all of us were happy and comfortable. However, there were still some areas, like the pronunciation, which we should work on in the future.
